I used to listen to all the old radio serials. Tarzan, Abbot & Costello, The Shadow, Green Hornet, Dragnet. You name it, my grandfather had it on tape.
Your strips touch on frustrating topics, so it’s hard to LOL because you’ve hit a difficult emotional chord, but it’s hard to get upset because you handle it with such warmth and humor.
Ohhhh Norm, Jack Benny is one of my all time favs, and I’m only 43 My kids LOVE him. Coincidentally, we just watched 2 episodes on DVD of him tonight, including the one with Liberace – timeless stuff.
You can download Jack Benny and other radio programs at http://www.archive.org. Beware, though–it’s easy to get hooked on them. My favorite is I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue.
Burns & Allen are some of the best. Jack Benny is surely classic though, especially when Bob hope would stop by. Oddly enough, my nearest city is Rochester…
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?

Darn you, Feuti, stop confusing me.
I love the strips with Mr. Klopec.
I’ve always been partial to the old Bob&Ray routines, myself.

Fibber McGee and Fred Allen are my favorites. Thank the gods for internet radio and the people who broadcast OTR!
I loveth Jack Benny. :3
Thank you, Gill, for demonstrating why I don’t listen to the radio any more
This strip is so true… some 20 radio station in my city and there’s only one left with any resemblance on what real comedy is.
That’s…too true to be funny. It really is. Gil’s last response pretty well sums up the ‘entertainment’ preferences of my generation.
I’m barely 21 and oh the stories I could tell you…
But farting songs is nothing new, take a look at Le Fartiste
