Since there’s some interest, I’ll keep posting Origami Man. There are only 24 in existence, so I’ll post the rest three at a time to make it last a little bit.
To answer some of the questions:
I don’t know that trying to get it traditionally syndicated again would do any good. In retrospect, I can see why the syndicates passed on it. As it stands, the premise requires too much of a set up for a regular newspaper strip. If I ever do give it another go, I’d have to tweak it somehow … and I’m not really sure how I’d do that.
I’ve considered turning OM into a web comic. I think if I were to revive it, the web would be the best format for it. I wouldn’t have to change the premise, because there would be an archive for new readers to start from the beginning. I’m not really sure if I have the time to devote to a web comic on top of doing Retail full time, though. Maybe I could do it as a weekly … I’ll have to give it some thought and see what happens.
But for now, here’s more Origami Man.

    Thanks for posting this, Norm.

Out of curiosity, how many strips did you submit before getting picked up with “Retail?”

In total I only submitted 3 other ideas including Origami Man, but there were a couple of different versions of Retail before I got the contract and the chronology is a little complicated.

After the weekend, I’ll post something about my syndication experience.
